If we can rely on Stones, it could be an option to go back to the box mid where Stones steps in from CB alongside Nico and Khusanov plays Akanjis role of covering our right third. He looks to have the skillset for that channel covering defender that Akanji is so good at.

We have bought players and have insisted on not playing them and using unfit players.

It would be a nice surprise if they could stay fit till then. Reckon at least one of them won't be available vs Liverpool. Hope I'm wrong.
 
What's happened to Oscar Bobb? Has he had a set back in his recovery - was training and now doesn't seem to be involved unless I've missed it (very possible as I've not bothered checking the thread).

These injuries to our defence are killing our season, whilst Akanji has not been ih the best of form over the last few months, I thought he had a decent game against Madrid. We all know Dias, Stones and Ake are all prone to injuries and I think we need to start looking at giving Kushanov some more games.
 
With the injuries this season, Real Madrid was the first time this season that Dias, Ake, Akanji, and Stones were all on the pitch at the same time.

And before Real Madrid, you'd have to go back to Sparta for them all to have played minutes of any kind in the same game
