Absolute joke that.

Stones out for a while too now I reckon

And that doesn't take into account all the times there were injured but still played. I wonder how many of the 'all fit' games had one of them not finish the game because they got injured too.

Having said that, this isn't bad luck, it's bad planning. It's not a surprise that Stones is injured all season and Ake hasn't exactly had an injury-free career at City either.

Has there been a game this season where all 4 have started, and if so, did they all compete the full 90 minutes?
In those 5 league games they were all fit, there wasn't a single game where they all started.

Dias, Gvardiol and Akanji were the preferred back three for the first 3 games of the season, although that may have been because Stones and Ake were being rested after going deep into the Euros like Rodri was. For the Wolves game, Stones replaced Akanji in a back four (alongside Dias, Gvardiol and Lewis) before Akanji replaced Stones against Southampton.

Also, how many times has a City defender been replaced at Half Time or earlier?

The odd one is inevitable, but we must have suffered around 5-6

Yeah if would be interesting to see that with a star for any defender that came out at halftime. Or realistically less than 60 minutes. Because even that is disruptive to a certain extent.

I’m guessing we won’t be seeing much of Bobb this season. A year out isn’t great for his progress.
Not sure I agree with that. He will be back by the end of the season once strong again and fit. Good season to miss as a young player, its been shit. Come back properly next season after being managed and a good pre season.

That ridiculous defensive line up at Spurs in the cup cost us big time.

I think it’s safe to say that none of them have been fit all season & have managed to play at times which has hampered their performance & recovery.

It’s possible just one of those players being fit would have allowed the others to recover so instead of a short term issue it was compounded.

Stones out for around the same time as akanji according to pep. 2-3 months, may require surgery. That's pretty much season over for both him and Akanji now. Might see them fit for the world cup.

So that's Stones out for the rest of the season then. It's all on Dias, Ake, Gvardiol, Khusanov, Lewis, and Reis now.

How long do we persist with Stones?
I wouldn’t give him a new contract unless it’s pay as you play
It’s amazing how he comes in after lengthy spells out and performs fantasticly. Like Ledley King used to do for spurs
But he can no longer be relied on to do a run of 5 games let alone 2.
Been great for us and we would still get £30m for him if we sold him in summer I think.

Anyone who sees that list and thinks any of them should be kept then I disagree.
We simply cannot afford to carry injuries like this. Is it lifestyle, is it training? Is it shagging to many love island birds??
Huge huge surgery required I am afraid. Doubt we will see stones again in a city shirt . Top lad love him but when push comes to shove way to injury prone. Absoluteley love Ake but again made of glass and as for Dias, his regression has been frightening. I am a lone voice but I simply do not rate him at all anymore
