Injuries 2024/25 | Dias ruled out for a month

Depends what you want, an elite club that has a mentality to stay at the very peak after years of trying to get there, or one where we have lovely memories and glaring issues are swept away, knowing we have been well and truly spoilt.
Wonder how the board and owner sees it.
Probably fine, no questios to be asked.
You’re saying that there after one injury ravaged season that has lead to a poor run of form.

What is it we’ve done the last decade? What I have witnessed is a club doing everything to stay at the very top. At some point that comes to an end. No club dominates forever, and that’s without it being due to form or whatever. Reigns end. This isn’t the case here. We are having a very bad run of luck in all aspects of the word.

What does getting injured after playing 4x 90 mins after coming off the back of an injury have to do with training?
Our players are injured constantly. Players have already said training is very intense at city. I’m suggesting during this spell of difficulty training hard might not be helping. Stones is back but we all know within 4 weeks if that he will be injured again.

Not just injuries. Aged players and lack of new blood.
But yep - injuries have certainly exposed and exacerbated the issues perhaps a season early.

Something isn’t right here. One or two players I get.

theres no reason that Harwood Bellis couldn’t have done a job this season. We knew Stones and Ake are injury prone. Dias and Akanji getting older. Baffling why we just let these kids go when they could provide cover and play cup games, letting injury prone, older players rest.
A large part of the motivation to sell our promising academy players presumably relates to PSR, and the apparent obsession of our hierarchy with posting reported profits.

Obviously we can’t hang onto every player but the PSR issue appears to have clouded our judgement over recent transfer windows, and we appear to have adopted a more short term approach when it comes to assessing players on the cusp of breaking into the first team squad.

I know we play a lot of games so injuries are to be expected. That being said, we rotate defenders probably more than any other side and yet they keep picking up muscular injuries. We must be the unluckiest side in world football for getting injured defenders.

Pep has said repeatedly that they hardly train in the busy parts of the season , it is more watching videos and do tactics , anyone blaming pep and training methods are wrong
