Injuries 2024/25 | Dias ruled out for a month

The medical team must be under so much pressure to get these players back. Trouble is we have too many aging bodies with a history of niggling injuries. They can't seem to seem to shake them off and ultimately leads to another injury. Johnny and Kev are primary examples. I hope Kova comes back 100% because we desperately need him. He's no Rodders but he can do the holding job better than anyone. Our midfield has a open sign up at the minute.

In our side Stones, Kovacic, Grealish had injuries in all their careers and as they get older they get worse and why sadly it may be time to move on.

KDB body is broken for me, numerous injuries have taken their toll but this last one seems a bit off, not sure we are getting the full story, is it a player pissed that we are not offering a new deal?

The De Bruyne injury is strange. No one seems to know what's causing it, or even why it would be occurring. I don't think he'd use it to get a new contract. After so long with City and giving us so much he wouldn't do that in my opinion. But if he's getting a new contract he better get fit quickly and show he's worth it. We've got a lot of dead wood to remove, but Kev's been an absolute legend, probably our best ever player and even if he was only good for 90 minutes once a week or every 10 days - if fit, he'd be worth it.

Kev said it is a problem in his pelvis which when he goes shoot a nerve pain stops him , never heard of it before but he was a long time out and there is always problems to overcome

He would never lie and has said he put the contract talks on hold as he had a bad injury . The rest is just nasty noise

Agree. I think this one's stumped people so it's led to rumours. But I don't believe them for a second. He's probably our greatest ever player, and deserves as much time as it takes to properly judge whether he can continue to perform for us. If he can't I don't think he'd want to sign in any case. If he can then we'd be stupid to let him go, even if we have to accept he's not going to be fit to play every single week. We need to improve the squad either way.

Go and listen to him when he did the preview for the Feyenoord match and you will then know about the injury and contract situation

Around 21 mins for his bit

He's not going to get a new contract, that's the issue for me.

Kev is a living, breathing, playing legend at this club. He is super chilled about his future and wants to do right by the club, his family and himself. He wants to ensure he is fit to play at top level again before he decides on his future, he's not messing the club about. If we need a clear out, IMO Kev isn't anywhere near the top of that goodbye list. His style of play and vision means that he could play another 2 or 3 seasons if used properly.

Love to know our fitness strategy for this season. It seems everyone is getting injured and our fitness levels are shocking. We cant effectively press anymore, is this because of the lack of rotation?
