Which is why I find it so odd that in the transfer forum there are several people who when talking about signing Guehi and Semenyo will question who will have to be sold for them to play, or ask who is removed from the first 11, as if we never have injuries or can't rotate or use subs.

Its not a small squad. Similar to most other PL squads
We have had Rodri missing until this week, Kovacic out since the start of the season and Stones/ Ake out for long periods. Bobb also an injury concern.
2 lads currently on Afcon reduces the squad even more.

The numbers might be there but the quality isnt and Stones/Ake are a pair of crocks. Hence why the same 11 plays every week.

Arsenals squad is miles better. Theyre not a great side but they can rest 3/4 against Bournemouth and bring them back in for Liverpool. Exactly what we used to do over the Christmas period.

Arsenals is. I've said that countless times and been reprimanded for that view.
On the other hand, you cannot go into the start of a season with players that are not fit on a regular basis. Nowhere near as good as Stones and maybe Ake but Akanji was a reliable utility player with a good fitness record. Rodri and Kovacic were always doubtful before the season even started.
Rico Lewis and Marmoush have slipped down the pecking order too.

Yes agreed - the planning was horrendous. Letting Kev go was the one thing they got right but retaining other crocks was a complete waste of time. Problem is who even takes them at this point?

Phillips having 30months left on his contract is absolutely ridiculous too.

Sorry but how was the planning horrendous

Nico G has been key this year, RAN hasn't played because of Nico taking his opportunity.

Many on here want Khusanov starting over Dias, well now hes got a chance. Cherki has been a star, Reijnders is starting to make an impact.

The issue is Pep hasn't used Marmoush, RAN, Savinho, Khusanov BEFORE the AFCON

You cant ship out playes that nobody is interested in as you mentioned

You cant do it all in a window, ser how gash the Dippers are after "winning the window" with a "title winning team"

Philipps , Ortega, Akanji , Grealish - no permanent decision made at end of season.
3 keepers in and 2 out.
Not sure if the CWC had anything to do with it due to that pre- season transfer window putting extra pressure on us and Txiki out/ Viana in.

Khusanov was good today when he came on but theres no way on earth hes ready to take on Dias role in this team.

Agreed on pep not using the afcon players enough / savinho is nowhere near good enough and should have been sold.

We were desperate for another CM / CB with our injury issues in those positions but that’s been evident for a while. Luckily nunes has done a great job at right back but that’s another position we’re incredibly light in. Maybe the club anticipated reijnders would play in more of a deeper role but at this point it looks as if hes more of one of the attackers.

Not disputing that were still in the middle of a big rebuild and I never expected us to win the title but with extra CL games and all these ridiculous international breaks you simply cant survive with a small squad anymore.

Reis and Akanji were part of our squad last season but both loaned while we kept Ake and Stones.
Grealish loaned out while Bobb and/or Savinho could have had that experience.
