Injuries 2025/26 | Kovacic could be ruled out for further 3-4 months (p37)

I think Pep has acknowledged the only proper DM cover for Rodri is Gonzales on whom the jury is definitely out. I think Baleba would be a wise HG investment given the uncertainty about both - plus Rodrygo & Gray of course ;-)
Gonzales hasn’t played enough for anyone to decide one way or the other yet.

Kovacic was never good enough to play that role on his own. As a supporting player or sub I’m fine with him but he’s not a starter for city if we want to win anything.

.
It will be interesting to see how our squad numerically looks at the end of the window. Particularly whether Pep has come to terms with probably needing a few more players. The calendar and workload for top players now means that to compete you need 3 or 4 more proper first team players than was the case even 10 years ago. We already have 5 who couldn’t travel to Palermo, and that is probably going to be the norm throughout the season, given that a couple of the ones who did go are highly injury prone. Pep worries me when talking about a small squad, I just don’t think it is realistic anymore.
Neither does Pep, in fact he said 2 different things and many are coming up with the wrong answer. Pep said months ago he needs to accept he can’t play so many games with a small squad. Then at the end of last season when we had players not registered he said he doesn’t want to leave players t home. The second doesn’t negate the first.
We will have a larger squad next season but I very much doubt we’ll have a squad as big as it is now and have players not registered.
We’ll end up with around our maximum allowed squad size, bigger than first half of last season smaller than the end of last season, and smaller than today.

Kovacic, Foden, Rodri and Savinho?

or is Foden just not fit yet, like Gvardiol?

I don't understand why some Blues keep saying that the jury is out on Nico. When he came into the side our results straight away got better, Pep even calling him little Rodri. I think that he is a really good player. Don't forget the amount of shit Rodri got after his first season on Bluemoon, don't believe me go and have a look at it. It hasn't aged well at all.

That's not what I said.

The rest of your post is a bit of a rambly rant talking to yourself mate.

I've never posted a single negative thing about the player.

So you think he's a good player then if so that's good because there is too much negativity about him. Oh and nobody is ranting and I wasn't having a go at you.

the Savinho injury looked like a lie from Pep lol. 3 weeks off he said? lets see if he makes the transfer and fit for any August games for Tottenham lol.

We look much better with him there. The combo of Gundo and Bernardo does not work.
