Injuries.

I presume Belgium have now qualified. Any attempt to play VK would amount to a wind up by Wilmots. Vincent is not supposed to be rushed but should be allowed to recover fully.
If the table I looked at is up to date, they have qualified but need a result at home to Israel to guarantee winning the group.

How do you know he isn't fit to play?

I get the point that they need to field their best team with Wales breathing down their neck but neither of us are certain about whether he's good to go by midweek. Info from physioroom.com would have been my best guess but unfortunately they only give an estimate of players' likely next epl game which may not be helpful to us. The point though is if VK has fully recovered then no qualms with playing him in midweek but it's not ideal to try to patch things up and risk him sustaining an injury that might prove detrimental to his club and international career. It's just not worth it.

It's a good job we only have league games against shit like Bournemouth and the rags coming up.

Sevilla might be troublesome though

Do you not think that may make players think twice about joining us? I do. Surely part of the attraction of our club is the way we treat our players?

Soon enough Sergio will come to realise that he can't please everyone all of the time and in order to prolong his career he'll have to say no to some matches.
Agreed but obviously the clause would have to be introduced as mandatory for all clubs, not just us - something has to be done surely, no-one can claim the current situation is fare, especially with the amount of games these guys play today - what about only paying a set amount (again across the board / prior agreement) if injured under certain circumstances with national teams - I repeat something should be done, it's just not acceptable anymore, and don't even talk to me about 'dreamteam'.

You misunderstand capitalism - if that happened then the 200k contract would become a 300k contract to allow for the fact that there is a 30% risk of reduction, there won't be a transfer of money from players to clubs in this way

There is now an arrangement whereby FIFA pays compensation if a player is out for 28 days or more following an official international. They appear to have agreed it to avoid a case in the ECJ.

We have suffered a horrendous run of injuries , but maybe our fellow title contenders should look at the league table , despite the team being decimated by injuries on a weekly basis we are top of the Premiership , we will also probably have vinnie , yaya , delph , kun , merlin ,clichy missing and zabs , mangala , nacho all with hardly any game time recently . But a victory against Bournemouth will consoldate out top position , if i was a fan of the rags, arse, chavs etc , i would be worried how we as a club , have coped with these injuries , because when we do get our first XI on the pitch , no one will live with us.
I am looking on the bright side, firstly players like Bony and Ichanebo need game time badly and I want games in their legs. They may be needed later in the season in huge games and if they don't get food playing time starting they won't be as good.

Secondly some rest now even if due to injury will reduce overall wear and tear at the end of the season like we saw with Chelsea last year when ironically in Europe and to some extent in the league though it was too late it hurt them. I think we are seeing now the effect of some players at Chelsea being totally overplayed last year.

We are good enough to cope and as long as the injuries are 3 or 4 weeks not 6 or 7 months I am not panicking

Hamstring injury ( what else ).

Its totally unacceptable for a club at this level to find itself after 10 games with only 5 members of its squad available for the first ten games of the season.

The whole medical and conditioning set up needs a complete revamp and the best of the best bought in to fix this problem which while never being able to be completely turned around has to get better.

We haven't even come close to the worst of conditions and suspensions are about to kick in to players.

Only a continuance of this scenario can and will derail our season , it needs to be addressed and improved upon ASAP as its been the biggest issue facing us for over two seasons now and its getting worse not better.
