Injuries

Hopefully, he will be back for Wembley. Yes, by his standards, he's been distinctly average these last couple of months. But we have no one better to unlock a defence with a moment of magic and a killer pass.

We are severley fucked with kev nasri and dave and jesus out

I'm more concerned with our league posion tbh, dropping anymore whilst we have so many out is a real possibility now

To be honest Karen I can't see us winning the league this year with the way we have been playing for the majority of the season. I don't think we will struggle for top 4 although we can't afford too many more poor performances. The two years we won the league, despite having to come back from poor positions, we were excellent on the whole for both seasons with the odd blip.

If someone offered me the CO cup and top 3 now I would take it.

Agreed. Too many substandard performances in the PL this season. Indeed, how many really top notch performances have we had in the league this season? Precious few, from what I can remember. Even when we dicked the toon, that was thanks to a freakish twenty minute spell. After the first 5 or 6 games, we've been average more often than not.

Newcastle could easily have been 2/3 up in that game too.

The really top notch stand out performance was Chelsea. I think it's that game in particular that gave everyone the total belief that there was only going to be one winner, not realising just how poor they were going to be.

We have been quite fortunate to pick up wins at Watford and Sunderland and get a point at West Ham. The results post Xmas have papered over the cracks until Saturday.

You never know though!

Delph injured now.

Fabian Delph, the Manchester City midfielder, has added to his side’s lengthy injury list with an Achilles tendon problem which is also likely to rule him out of England’s two high-profile friendly fixtures at the end of March.

Delph was substituted in City’s 3-1 home defeat by Leicester City, the Barclays Premier League leaders, last Sunday.

“Fabian Delph has a problem with his Achilles tendon and he needs six or seven weeks, I think, to recover,” Manuel Pellegrini, the City manager, confirmed.

Delph’s absence leaves City without four senior midfield players, along with Samir Nasri, Jesus Navas and Kevin de Bruyne, and means he is also set to miss England’s games against Germany on March 26 and the Netherlands three days later.

Pellegrini is also without Bacary Sagna, Eliaquim Mangala and Wilfried Bony for Sunday’s visit of Tottenham Hostpur, their title rivals, as City look to close a six-point gap behind Leicester.

However, David Silva has been passed fit following treatment in Spain for an ongoing ankle problems and Vincent Kompany, the captain, returns to the squad for the first time since a recurrence of a calf injury on Boxing Day.

“It’s difficult when you have so many players injured in the same position. We must try to manage with the players we have,” Pellegrini added.

“David has been playing with a problem with his ankle for the past four or five games but I hope now he will be better.

“Vincent is coming back from a long injury and is another important player for our team so hopefully we can have a good performance.

“You have seen Kompany playing here for so many years I don’t have to say what he gives to our team.

“He is one of the best defenders in the league and is the captain of our team so he has a lot of things to give.”

It's almost like fucking witchcraft. This is what we've lost so far:

Nasri - 7 months (including current injury)
Delph - 6 months (including current injury)
Kompany - 5 months
Zabaleta - 4 months
Clichy - 4 months
Bony - 4 months (3 seperate injuries)
Mangala - 4 months (3 seperate injuries including current one)
Aguero - 3 months
De Bruyne - 2 1/2 months (including current injury)
Silva - 2 months

That's 10 players, including 7 first choice starters, out for a total of 41 months....or 3 1/2 years. Genuinely incredible and completely unprecedented

That's one helluva list. Fucking shocking actually. Maybe if some of those lazy fucking doctors worked weekends then the situation wouldn't be as bad.......cunts.
