He will be a big big miss. I have it on good authority that he's definitely out.
 
Rather concerned the amount of hamstring injuries we're getting
Milner (twice) kolarov, Silva among others.

Yes but pschologically he improves everyone with his presence, he makes everyone around him feel comfortable!

Did you not see his performance against Madrid at home? That was one of his best yet!

Sadly it just highlights our lack of really top class midfield players in the squad....the average quality of the signings we made in the summer is very baffling.

This. If Silva's not available I'd sooner see Suarez get a chance, even though he's very young and inexperienced. I'd rather take the risk than go with Nasri, he simply doesn't do enough worth noticing. If goalkeepers, defenders and defensive midfielders get through games without you really noticing them then they've done their job well - sometimes individually and sometimes as a unit. However, any player in Samir Nasri's position should be noticed, they would have to get involved and do something to worry the opposition. Rarely seen Nasri do this, ever, with exception of a real purple patch whilst at Arsenal.

Silva would be a huge miss, really important we have him fit for Sunday. Fingers crossed It's mind games, but I have a feeling It's not.

Nasri's ball retention is first class. I genuinely don't get this negativity around him these days. Very rarely gives it away, holds the ball up well. It's been difficult for him playing 2nd fiddle to Silva's undoubted class since he arrived though and he often ends up playing wide which is probably not his preferred position.

I get that (re his ball retention), I'd just prefer him to take the odd risk and gamble on the odd forward/through ball - even if it meant his pass completion rate dropped by a few % per season.
 
Last season i dont think we had any long term injuries,mostly niggles that got shook off,this season we are picking up injuries left right and centre,hopefully silva is ok for sunday and its just a bit of mind games going on....

Are blues on here really worried about this game. We are superior in every department. As long as Vinny and Nasty play to form and handle RVP and Rooney, I can see no problems.
Is Scholes available for this? I still chuckle to myself when I think of how poor he looked against Yaya in the 1 - 0. Cleverly, Fletcher, Carrick, Family-wrecker are all inferior or past their sell by...and I wont even start on their defence or keeper.
So, no Silva means we will be slightly weaker but still too good for them.

Never felt more confident before a derby - mind you it's a new feeling... so that's worrying!

Hope the mind games is right, why would you tell your opposition who's fit and unfit six days before.

You can't think like that in football though.

Barcelona were ridiculously superior to Chelsea yet got beat, United superior to Norwich but got beat, us superior to Suderland but got beat.... The list could go on.

Derby day is all about who wants it more and who is in better form regardless of whoever is on the team sheet!

I know and thought twice before posting in case I jinxed us.
What i was trying to convey is although Silva is a important to us it is not the end of the world. Any result is possible on Sunday, but if all things are equal we should still be good enough without our Spanish magician.
i too hope it is mind games and Silva plays but let's go into this game with confidence in the eleven selected.
 
James Cooper will be wetting himself thinking Silva isnt playing on Sunday.Then surprise surprise he is fit to play on derby day the fantasic David Silva
