It’s tough at the top dude, a winning mentality manifests itself in different ways, subduing a dangerous opponent by hook or by crook is par for the course with a lot of top teams.Slightly different scenario there because that would be in retaliation. I wouldn’t want our players making pre-meditated challenges to deliberately injure opposition players normally. Doesn’t sit right with me personally.
That being said yes, in that particular situation I wouldn’t have complained if one of our players had left something on the **** because of what he did to Kev.
Seeing that for the second time it is an incredibly dangerous and high body check. It would be a red card on a rugby field never mind football. It is also clear that it was deliberate. Rudiger made no attempt to even follow the ball and he looked up before hitting De Bruyne. It's a shocker really. Not as bad as the Ben Thatcher one for City years ago but in the same sort of territory. If Rudiger says it was unintentional then he is just a liar as well as a thug. Why didn't VAR check it?Dirty ****. Can’t wait until he meets his karma.
