It’s a gamble whether you start KW & JS, if they’re not at least 90% match ready it’s a huge gamble, some would play em on one leg, but think back to the CL ties against RM, when KW & JS went off in the relevant ties it gave the opposition a lift, a massive lift & we all know what happened. I’d personally start both but we’d need to have a lead going into the second half. They shouldn’t have anywhere near the amount of defending they had in the RM games so if they do start I’d expect them to complete most of the game or until it’s a formality

It was less of a gamble in the cl games because of the 5 subs rule

If there wasn't a chance they could play on Sunday, would they actually be in training right now? Or would they use training to try and get back to fitness regardless, even if there is only one game left to play?

I think it's highly unlikely they'd be involved today if there was no chance of playing on Sunday.

Sky earlier were saying Gerrard had said he had a dilemma for tonight's selection. What fucking dilemma? It's their last home game of the season, surely he goes full strength and the same on Sunday. Both results mean nothing to Villa except maybe a bit of extra money for league positions.

That was my thinking. Be like taking the week off work for illness but returning at 3pm on the Friday - most bosses would just say come in Monday. But I appreciate that I know fuck all about this sort of thing and that it might not hold up as an analogy.

Yeah, that's what I wondered. Maybe if Gerrard thinks it's going to be even tougher to get anything out of the game on Sunday then he might go all out tonight. They could potentially go up three places with a win against Burnley, which would be worth a few million if they remain there. Like I say, I might be reading too much into it though!
