Lets say he is guilty and this is only a presumption, then what ever did he do wrong other than send an email... where in the email is there any suggestion it is meant for Nedum's mum... the email reads “Brian, Ravaged with it!! I don’t know how you sleep at night. You used to be such a nice man when I worked with you at Nike. G.” not one mention of his mum anywhere

He wouldn't lose his job just for sending that email IMO.

It would be for lying about sending it and blaming the mystery hacker that would make his position untenable.

Sorry for my ignorance Moomba , when you say you find it hard to believe are you saying you find it hard to believe that Cook didn't send the email.

I think thats how you interpret it but I haven't read where you have actually said that. Apologies if have said that somewhere.

I think your spin on the amount of correspondence that actually took place prior to this email being drafted and sent quote possibly between Marwood and the Doctor or GC and the doctor is very plausible and helps to explain the email which by the way could easily be sent by another person who is across the situation.

Also for whats it worth is Nedum's mum albeit with the best of intentions doing her son any favours at all but going public with it or giving the details to someone who has with or without her permission as the case may be.

Yeah, I don't really buy someone jumping onto Cooks email account and replying to that email with that wording, it just doesn't seem realistic to me.

As for Ned's mum, I find it hard to see what she has to gain out of this but theres an awful lot about that side of the football business that I wouldn't have a clue about.

All of this is perfectly timed for Kia, Ned and his mum
We block a move to Everton for Ned as Robbie deemed that he had a minimal part to play this season and Ned's mum chooses to tell the press about the email that happened 11 months ago, if she was so upset by it why didn't she report it at the time? The answer to that is that 11 months ago Ned was at sunderland and rebuilding his career and everything was OK
Now that they have hired the slimeball rat that is Kia Jobrachian as "mentor" to Ned and to try to get him a new club, we blocked the move and now the so upset mother decides to finally report the email and gets Kia to tell the sun and it all blows up
Isn't Ned's mum forgetting all of what City did for her son, the training, all of the work that the fantastic people at Platt Lane did for him, she is forgetting that it is only through Jim Cassell and us that her son is at our football club and being chased by other teams in the premier league, I think she is in one sense being ungrateful to us and also she shows that she and her son don't give a shit about us which I find disgraceful given how much work everyone at City put in to her son
On another note I think that Cook did send the email which was meant to go to Brian but sending an email to a collague shouldn't be deemed enough to get sacked but as "moomba" said above if he has lied about his emails being hacked then he should get sacked for not telling the truth

Sorry for the long and badly punctuated post

A mum who handles her sons business affairs will usually support him as you would suspect no matter what ( blind love ).

Sometimes however you don't get what you want and Nedum going public about his concerns about RM's man management style in relation to him and speaking for others the ultimate in stupidity whether it be the case or not would not have helped her negotiating position or Nedums if a club could not offer us a price that suited our value or his wage demands.

Its clear she thinks Nedum situation at the club has been handled poorly by the club and when he was asked to train with the reserves and left behind while we were in the USA she felt the media needed to know about it including some of the correspondence she had received from the club.

Hell hath no fury than a woman scorned as they say.

The irony is that RM has him in our squad this season when last season it suited us and Nedum apparantly for him to be loaned out for the whole season.

Even though the e-mail was not intended for Ned's Mum, it was still a very silly thing to do. I am sure it was not malicious, but a sincere apology at the time should have sufficed.
...and here is the rub - the time was 11 months ago! Why has it only just surfaced?
I can not help but suspect it is because Tevez's agent, Kia, had got involved in Nedum's transfer. Kia would love to see the back of Cook and he might just get his way. The most stupid thing Garry Cook has done is to try and pass the blame. Our owners will not overlook the incident if it shows Cook is not a man of his word.

I fear (because I think he's done a fine job) that Cook will go. If he does the new man should immediately ban any negotiations with that trouble making Kia - even if it means losing the likes of Tevez.
