I am certain there was a thread already however meantime just watched Episode 9 Series 9 - the conclusion and it was good as ever - all 9 series of episodes and characters pulled together in a massive story arc ending with an in-joke that was fun.

Thinking back, for me, best episode was in series 2 the 12 days of Christine - so poignant

Figured it out about 10 seconds before it became clear what was going on!
I have to agree that really was a superb piece of television.

Tonight on BBC 2 at 21.00 there is a documentary supposedly about the making of Inside No.9.
I wouldn’t put it past Pemberton and Shearsmith to make it a surprise episode.

I've never got round to watching it.
I never really got Psychoville, and I found series 3 of tLoG too dark.
Don't get me wrong, the first 2 series of tLoG were some of the best TV comedy, ever.

I'm off over Christmas, so I might start watching them

watched that - great TV - Just watched a similar prog with Mackenzie Crook on Detectorists - they have just started the first ever episode - there are some gems on this Xmas
Crook deserves more credit for detectorists than he gets.
He wrote, directed and casted it.
It's a brilliant body of work, one he can be proud of, even if he does nothing else.
How one individual can come up with the idea, write the script, pitch it, get the funding, spend months filming, editing, sorting the music, the logistics must have been horrendous. They had to take over vast areas of countryside for weeks.
And we are given this, a beautiful, funny, clever, wonderfully produced bit of telly that was made with such care, such attention to detail, obviously a passion that Mr Crook had in his heart and was determined to complete.
I love it, and as a fan of well written clever comedy, I think it will eventually be remembered as one of the best.

There's also the running jokes he winds into the script.
Simon and garfunkle being the most obvious, of course, but there's many others.
There's a peado gag if you look close enough, so subtle. And the elvis one.
Clever, clever writing.
