Insurance Claim Query

The other half dropped her engagement ring down the sink the other day so thinking of claiming on the house insurance.Ring was bought 8 years ago and luckily we still have the receipt.

Anybody got any experience of claiming for lost jewellery? Will they just replace it with one similar or will they give us vouchers/cash etc?

I've had to do the same thing a couple of times for the same reason.

I'm sure your insurance would give you cash but, if it's the same as over here they will just jack your rates up to get their money back.
