I can understand that he's upturning and upsetting peoples lives and if the people who he's upsetting have different morals to him, and me, and that is out of order! he's also making a fool of other men, belittling them! but it happens EVERYWHERE, does that make it right? probably not! but should Prince Charles be stopped from becoming King cos he cheated on Diana!? so why should John Terry be lose one of his jobs!?

I actually have a girlfriend and I wouldn't do what Terry has done to his brid to her! Mate I think you're missing the point here. Just because what Terry did happens in all walks of life, it doesn't make it right!!

People aren't asking for Terry to lose his job, they are asking him to observe common decency and relinquish his position as the England captain. As I quoted earlier, unless Terry's dead from the neck upwards, he must have considered the consequences of his actions if he was ever caught otherwise why was he sneaking around behind his 'best mate' and his wife's back? Why did he go to such extra-ordinary lengths to stop the story being leaked by the press? Of course Terry knew he was being a scum-sucking little sneak!!!!

Also, don't give me Darwin's theory of natural selection, the survival of the fittest etc etc. The power of reason is what seperates man from monkey and if you have missed this obvious point in the Terry-gate affair, you need to remember your own power of reason (if you have any) and understand that we would truly live in a sad society if you were all allowed to go around doing as you felt just because the power of natural selection made you 6'5" and 19 stone and because of this you could impose your will on those who's genes are not as close to the animal kingdom as yours!!!

The fact that he had an affair with one of his teamates is the reason his captaincy is under threat, not the fact that he simply had an affair. Something alot of people can't seem to grasp.

Alan Mullery said on SSN the other day, why should he resign as captain, other past england captains and players haven't been whiter than white. Yes Alan you are right, but can't you see it's different as it involved another teammate, not just some random joe public, and not only another teammate but a well liked teammate.

I'd strip him of the captaincy but still take him to the World Cup. Give it Gerrard.

Im not trying to goad you, honestly Im not, but why do you bring up how big and heavy you are if you dont routinely use your size as a way of bullying people?

Just for the record I happen to be hard as feck, mental as hell and brought up in Moss Side with family members who are very well connected to the old Manchester families. If you catch my drift?

But guess what I never have to use these 'advantages' cos i have control of myself as well as the ability to manage myself and others.

This may have been posted already but: how come this thread has not been deleted? Whilst it may be true and I hope to God it is (Terry is a tosser) surely it is all speculation at the moment? I'm not knocking the OP at all but when the other thread on the Yoonited fan who threw the coin get's pulled and this is allowed to stay it's a bit odd. Again, I'm not knocking the OP or the Mods, I'm just curious of what constitutes over stepping the mark. Can a Mod enlighten me?

Problem with that is that most papers are claiming Bridgey and his missus had split when JT was doing the dirty on her, whilst some claimed he was still with her. We don't know for sure.

I'd also say that Gerrard, who has been arrested for assault and allegedly ran over a child is a worse role model than Terry. Ten year old kids aren't going to be influenced by adultery or consenting sex but may be influenced by violence. Mullery has a point. All the potential captains have a controversial past in terms of their private life, which leaves us with players like Emile Heskey, James Milner and Wes Brown who don't really have merit on the field.

I say leave it up to Capello, let him see how it affects the team and see how remorseful Terry is. If all goes to plan give it back to Terry. If not, give it to Rooney, Barry or Lampard, who are not whiter than white or the ultimate captain, but do a lot behind the scenes with charities. Lampard in particular is very articulate and would be an excellent role model.

I couldn't give a fuck to be honest if they are role models or not, i want the best leader on the pitch to be my england captain. At the moment, Gerrard fits that as as far as i'm aware he hasn't been shagging any wives of the England side.
