I just tink AC wanted to get themselves out of a hole that they had dug for themselves. They had to consider our bid for financial reasons but the fans backlash I suspect took them by surprise. The only way out is to blame someone which they couldn't do if they sold him, so they had to back out of the deal. The only way is to up the price, we of course walked away without speaking to the player. They can say Kaka is staying he loves AC, Cooke says we pulled out of the deal, both stories acurate.
The problem for AC is that everyone knows Kakas price and basically only Barca or Real who could mount a bid, if they tried to sell for less than that fans would turn on club. If Kaka's form drops they won't be able to get rid and they have blown any chance of really strengthening their team.
