My interweb connection is being rather tempremental, sometimes it'll show the page and other times it'll say I'm not connected. I've re-booted and restarted my modem, neither have helped... any ideas?

Thankyou.

- Change the wireless channel through the router settings.
- Check you are using mixed mode for wireless (b+g).
- Check the router isn't getting too hot and that there's no other wireles devices close by.
- Maybe change your MTU setting to 1500, this can be complicated though as it's either done through the router settings or editting the registry on your PC.

recently changed from bt (bloody expensive) to sky (megga cheap) equivalent services on paper but the sky one has been far more reliable and fast.

Yep I'm with Virgin... It only seemed to start happening this week. I'll click a link and it'll instantly fire back the "cannot view webpage" screen ... It's like it's not even trying to find the site. I pinged my IP and all 4 data packets went through... so it's a bit of a mystery.

clear all your history and your cookies and all that crap. turn off your router for about 20 mins, then try again jimmy. if that fails it maybe a virgin problem at their end.

No help... I just had to click the "reply to thread" button 5 times the first 4 brought back the "cannot dispaly internet page" screen. I don't know what to do. I'm not wireless I'm connected to a modem via an ethernet cable, any more suggestions?

More likely your ISP, does your internet/dsl light go off when this happens, or do they stay lit/blink? If so, you could do with changing to some third party DNS servers as Virgin might be getting overloaded at the mo (with the takeover in the past few months) but this is a woman to do.
