International referees lean as much on VAR for obvious decisions as ours do.

Referee in the Spain-Serbia match gave a yellow for an obvious last man challenge from behind just outside the box, to wait on VAR to tell him to go watch it back two times so he could give the red he knew he’d likely have to give.

I am all for getting the decisions right, but those sorts of “I’ll let VAR do the work” decisions (and often indecisions) really annoy me.

We’ve had one, as well, and it was a clear red but the ref didn’t give it until VAR essentially forced him to.
