International Matches - 5th Sept '24 - 11th Sept '24

Decent game but Ake’s injury overshadows it. Would love to hear Guardiola asked for his thoughts on players being asked to start two such competitive games when they’ve barely played for months.

Played 3 minutes, as a very late sub, for City in the first four weeks of the season.

Plays 2 games for the surrender specialists in seventy two hours.

Koeman, such an arrogant bastard !!
There needs to be some kind of rule (I know it'll never happen) where if a player hasn't played or only played a few minutes at the start of the season then under no circumstances should they play two games over 4 days, it's just ludicrous.

BBC Football can't bring themselves to mention Erling' s winner anywhere on their front page. Pathetic rag ridden rathole.EDIT Just added "as Haaland scores Norway winner" below "Odegaard Limps Off" - our national broadcaster is rotten to the core.
It’s NOT my national broadcaster, it’s a corrupted, racist, rag infested paedo ridden shambles.

I opted out of the fee years ago....AND ITS LEGAL.

The telephone no.is on the rear of the license, ring up, tell em you’re moving abroad.

They’ll refund any unused portion and they
no longer have a detector team.....their costs have been used to pay the paedos, Edwards and Lineker !!

Horrible organisation.

Clubs and players should be entitled to be involved in the decision making.

I was pleased to see Lee Carsley show common sense and responsibility to City and John Stones tonight.

Common sense isn’t very common !!

Sorry to hear about the injury to Ake. Seems it's a hamstring injury so hopefully he's not out for too long and comes back as good as ever.

We've had Calafiori and Odegaard injured in these pointless international matches as well. So soon into the season and straight after a major summer tournament, do the authorities expect the players to be robots?

The player needs to show some common sense and stand up to a manager even at the risk of censure in such situations. However, it is likely that Ake was anxious to get some additional fitness into the legs and not altogether adverse to playing two games close together. If he did not feel up to it and went ahead and played it was a very costly mistake indeed. The other side of the coin is that pressure to get back in the City team was foremost in his mind and he felt he needed to make an impression. Anyway hope it's not as severe as Kevs injury this time last season.
