International Matches | November 9th - 16th

Everyone wanted to see young players used and now they have been unfortunately the gulf in talent is clear. Until the FA work with the league to make sure more English players get opportunities e.g through requiring 2 to start and 2 on the bench every game (or something to that degree) we will struggle.

Two 0-0 draws against the best two teams in the world (France and Spain might argue) is decent with so many out injured. But we just cannot pass so counter attacking is how we have to play. With Kane, Sterling, Alli etc missing it is whether Southgate still thinks we could play a passing game against this level of opposition. We couldn't.
The F.A can fuck off , we'll play who's good enough for us , whatever country they're from .

Dont see what difference FA quotas would make, getting token appearances desn't make players better. in the late 70s and 80 s we had loads of English players playing for their clubs, we were worse then than we are now , didnt even qualify for some tournaments.

Yes. There were very few foreigners in the league until about 1995. In the last 50 years we have not been to a single final and just one semi final. That's about 25 tournements. The problem has been football education, with too few decent coaches. The current system is a big improvement and some good young players are emerging. But why did we mothball Burton for 10 years ? Amazing that the academy system of Elite player programme was largely designed by Howard Wilkinson, of all people.Dan Ashworth has done really well, but a cloud hangs over him. Can he survive ?

City - Stones, Sterling, Walker, Delph
Rags - Rashford, Jones, Smalling, Shaw
Spurs - Kane, Alli, Trippier, Dier
Chelsea - Cahill, Drinkwater, could easily add 2 more
Arsenal - Walcott, Wilshere, Holding, Welbeck
Liverpool - Solanke, Gomez, Arnold, Henderson

Could keep going here, don't see what difference your requirements would make.
