International Space Station Tracker

Thanks for putting this up. Watched a few times over the years with the kids. Will be having a look tomorrow.

I have seen it once by accident over the years, and once planned. It is crazy how little people actually watch a clear night sky. I was lucky enough to grow up in Cornwall (mid to late teens) and when the weather was good for periods of time, used to spend a lot of time at beaches (only known to locals) for a 1-3 day beach stayover armed with either a sleeping bag, or something comfortable to sleep on next to a campfire. (People used to be send on supply runs staggered 2-3 times a day).

Anyway, shooting stars are more common than you think. Planets are often very visible and stand out like a sore thumb. Andromeda also stands out as well as an enormous amount of constellations.

Unfortunately 20 years on, life takes over, and you have to plan. I haven't seen starlink yet although I would like to. Has anyone else seen starlink?

It's also amazing how few of us regularly get to see a proper night sky due to light pollution etc. I reckon it's about once a year I'm somewhere where there is proper darkness and a clear night sky.

It crosses the UK skies every day, not sure about this thread though ;-) , I'm further south so we see it more often, as it doesn't get very far north on each pass, and sometimes it's in the daytime, so not visible, even when it crosses our skies, it's brightness varies hugely, and the time is different each day.

This website can calculate it for you.
I've seen it pass over where I live a few times plus you're getting the satellites passing over as well.

For those who haven’t seen the ISS in real life, it’s like the ball in Pong going very slowly, then disappearing.

Magical. Truly magical.
Around 10 years ago, me and my son watched it pass over as it had the space shuttle docking with it. DOUBLE light.

Plenty of sightings near Oxford this week. It should be similar oooop north: 7 minute sightings are about as good as it gets in the UK.

tonight at 10:47 (5 mins)

I’ve got an app, Sky View Lite, it looks like the ISS is slowly revolving as it travels.

longest sighting I can recall the other night. looking at the ISS tracker app (GoISSWatch on iPhone ) it was over Belarus/Ukraine before it went out of sight.

Watched it last night. Seven minutes it was visible for
Same again tonight in the Manchester Cheshire areas. 7 minutes from 10pm
