Internationals 5th-11th October

Southgate must go, we're about half the team we were under Hodgson and that's saying something. Play like this in Russia and we'll go out at the group stage with two points on the board. Arguably the most clueless England manager I've ever seen.

No managerial skills at all, they all do what they want on that pitch,Walker taking that free kick in first half ! Rashford trying to showboat at every opportunity, which more or less ended up with him being tackled, and as for his corner taking,he can't kick it hard enough,Henderson is awful,I've never really rated him,but he is so poor at that level,Dier certainly lives up to his name on the pitch as well,we will struggle in Russia, there's no 2 ways about it

When are we going to get past this 'blame the manager' approach all the time? Hodgson might be no great shakes but if I'd told the players to spread out a bit against Iceland it should have been enough. Eriksen had a great club record, and did little with England. Capello was deemed one of the best in the world. Shambles.

All very well to say 'Southgate must go' but then what? You think England will magically improve with someone else? Not going to happen. Every time it's been let's sack the manager, and every time England have shown no sign of getting any better. How many do we need to go through here?

I agree, but what is it with the national team managers, hardly ever on the touchline barking out instructions, like prem managers do,the FA were caught on the hop,he got the job on a technicality, plus they never had the balls to have someone outspoken, until they appointed Allardyce, then that blew up in their face,so they be well scared of appointing anyone like him for a long while,it's a yes man,and yes man only the FA are interested in

Stones spent the whole game seemingly expecting a mobile Fernandinho or a sideways-on De Bruyne. Instead, he was confronted with two static holding midfielders who didn't want the ball.
Rashford is Welbeck Lite, and he's slowly morphing into "Blind Alley" Sturridge. Sterling would have been crucified if he'd missed that chance with his wrong foot.
Rashford can do no wrong, but that will soon change when the better teams expose his limitations next summer.

For all his faults, Hart is still the best English keeper, but to be honest I was more concerned with City players not getting injured.

Until players are picked on merit instead of who they play for we will always be second rate. Not bothered, havent been to an England match in years and no intention of wasting my money which can be better spent watching City.

Pretty much how I saw it. In all honesty, and as much as I used to enjoy seeing our players earning international recognition, there's little point in either Stones or Sterling starting games because of the difference in playing styles and ability between our players and England's. Southgate needs to decide how he wants his team to play and then select players that can play that system. If that means Jones and Smalling hoofing it over Dier and Henderson to Lingard, Kane and 'He who shall not be criticised' then so be it, I'm past caring, just don't expect the likes of Sterling and Stones to play that way.

Delighted with our result and hopefully we can make it to the Play Offs.

As for England? This is the worst team in 30 years. A lot of form needs to improve or balls will be parted in Russia and I don't mean the fans against the Russians hooligans.

Southgate is a twat. Get rid or rue.

The BBC's verdict is in. Surprise, surprise.

Rated 7/10 for potentially doing something.
Truly pathetic.
The worst two players on the pitch, Henderson and Ox got 5 and 4 respectively. I'd have given them 3 and 2 myself while giving Walker 6 or 7 (if the goal boosts his rating as it certainly did for Kane) and Sterling 6. Rashford's 7 is overly generous too.

England are the international equivalent of a premier league's team who's sole ambition is to qualify for the champions league, job done. So long as we win some hand picked easy group games and qualify the FA are happy. Money in the coffers old boy! They must be pissed off there are no pretty boy's like Beckham in the team to help with shirt sales and sponsorship. While I agree it isn't all down to the manager, some of the players are over hyped dross, he has to carry some of the can. Last night nobody seemed to have a clue what the plan was, if there was any. Our midfield was so unimaginative and slow I almost wished rug headed Rooney was there. We have been having this discussion about the England team for probably 20-30 years with almost everything tried and we look worse than ever.
