Strachan has done well with what he has at his disposal I don't think anyone could truly deny that, Scotland will qualify IMO and the tartan army will have another outing, dust off the kilts orange wigs yellow flags with lions on them and dance in fountains. As for England we seem to be empty and soulless, we have good players but there doesn't appear to be a team spirit or a hunger we seem flat. Saying that, we qualified and are in the blocks for a starting position.

We are still in the mix. Titter ye not. And out of the top European sides you are definitely the weakest, so yes, you will do nicely.

You will not win it but you have the players to do much better than what we are witnessing. I don't think Southpark is the guy to get you firing with the right players playing to your strengths. I don't know who is though.

Thought a bit more about the goal today.
It was Walker who made it through his interception, strong running and great low cross.
It was also a good finish from Kane, but because Walker is now a blue, it was Kane who got all the plaudits.
Now imagine if Rashford had cut out that clearance from the goalie and then gone on to do what Walker did. What would the narrative have been then?

Just seen the player ratings in the Times.
Sterling got a 6 which I thought was reasonable given he had a decent second half performance.
But here's the rub- Kane got the highest score with a 7 after having had a very poor overall game. So he must have scored highly for his one important contribution of scoring the late goal? In which case you would expect other players who made a vital one off contribution, such as Joe and Walker, to have a similar high score. You would be wrong- they both got 5.
