internet drop out

somebody... please help!

my internet seems to be switching itself on and off every few seconds, resulting in lots and lots of "problem loading page" type screens, and i cant work out why- doesnt seem to be a problem with the comps or with the router, is it BT or the ISP or something?

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago... I'll see if I can find a link to the tread for you.

turn off your pc..unplug your router from the power supply

wait a few minutes then restart your pc...wait for the pc to boot up then plug your router back in...this by rights should renew your ip address as you should be on a dynamic ip

a dynamic ip means you have a set ip address for a set time (on lease), this is renewed every few days or weeks

Thanks for the message Pearcey, and by proxy shadygiz. gave it a try, didnt seem to work- but fingers crossed i think i've found out what it was now, we seem to have a duff cable.
