Read Nolito's article and he comes across as a down to earth bloke , (who when his career ends , just wants to go and do a bit of fishing with his brother) ,and it was obviously a lighthearted comment with regards the Manchester climate , but the media construed his first interview when he left he club as slagging off Manchester , but IT WAS A F*CKING JOKE. Some posters on here have had a sense of humour by pass , because the weather is mostly shit in Manchester , it can be damp and dreary , and it goes dark at 4pm , the lad is just telling the truth . We are playing the best football ever seen in this country with the best manager in the world , and we still moan at media led shit like this.

Exactly. It was a joke, but some truth in it too. Dark at 4.30pm and slashing it down for 4 months doesn't exactly float my boat either, and I've lived here 95% of my life.

Now imagine you've lived nearly all your life in sunshine. Then move here. I'm sure if he was playing every week he'd have lived with it, but once you're not it becomes a factor.

Sid came up short IMO, never even touched on the Barcelona connection. Pep gave him his senior debut at Barcelona but was also loaned out under him whereas he was a featured player that saw his career resurrected under Lucho at Vigo. The entire pursuit of him in winter 2015 and summer 2016 by Barcelona was not even brought up in the context of choosing Pep/City over it and having to come back to Spain anyway. It was a gamble at the time by the player, myopic from Lowe to not even cover that angle

Understandable in the end as it was a new adventure with Pep where there would be spotlight

Exactly. Moreover, when City was struggling for goals late in the season and Leroy wasn't converting, Nolito never came off the bench. He got into Pep's doghouse and only made one cameo after, if I recall. Probably linked to his red card or that fire he plays with that maybe Pep didn't want to manage

He thinks Silva is the best player in the league and really its hard to argue.

You could see it tonight.

Kun may score the goals and have some great balance, strength, pace and skill; de Bruyne may give MOTD five highlights a week and is arguably the biggest star in Europe at the moment (but can have a 4/10 game every now and again)... both of those are match winners and world class, of course.

But Silva runs the game and without him tonight you realise how much he does. They aren’t highlights but it’s 7.5-8/10 every week, every season. Just keeps the game ticking over at the pace he wants us to play, every single game.
