me girlfriends got one of them, though it was shite at first, then i looked it now i think its shit again.

The HTC Hero uses the same android technology as the g1 though and its meant to be top.

I've cancelled me orange contract now, not sure what to get. I know il get bored of whatever phone i get within a month so might as well get a shite one.

Yes, You can get the old ones unlocked and the new one comes on pay as you go.
