Iran shipping conflict

Antisemitism is live and well on Bluemoon.

Could you define what is acceptable as criticism of the Israeli state's position on Palestine and what isn't?

It seems to me that a lot of people are criticising it in a way that you find anti Semitic, which is probably down to a poor choice of words rather than the sentiment behind them.

The media are extremely fast to clamp down on such things based on buzz words/phrases.

Most of these people who are not in any position of power, have read half baked articles on the situation there and are outraged by the killing of defenceless Palestinians, without the necessary syntax to portray their outrage without using certain buzz words or reposting others that don't have the ability to express their distain without differentiating between Zionism and Judaism.

What I don't understand is why so many Labour members have a vested interested in the Israeli/Palestianian conflict. Why aren't they similarly up in arms about Libya, Iraq et al?

I’ll make this very fucking straight forward for you.

Talking about Israel on a thread or topic that has little or nothing to do with Israel and bringing that country up in a negative light, for no reason to do with the topic of conversation, will draw attention to yourself as an antisemitic piece of shit.

I hope this helps.

For the record, my record on this forum has been heavily critical of Israel and its continued offensive against the Palestinian people.

But if you’re going to bring it up at every opportunity, well then you can go and fuck yourself.

Talking about Israel in any topic doesn't make you an anti Semite. It's well known that Iran and Israel are enemies, so Israel is intrinsically linked if not directly relevant.

Why are you allowed to be critical of Israel, but others not? What sets you apart?

I've never brought the subject up with you before, so not sure why you have suggested I bring it up at every opportunity.

I merely responded to your post suggesting antisemitism was alive and well on bluemoon.

I thought he was talking about xgorton who raised it in the first place. He’s not wrong about him.

I haven't noticed what he's posted, so can't comment on that, but his response to me was so charged that I thought it deserved the reply above.

The whole Israel thing is being criticised out of all proportion in the UK and the US. It's being weaponised by people that want to discredit the left to enable their rhetoric to be more acceptable.

As soon as something is accused, people now are duty bound to distance themselves from anything that is even slightly controversial. It's the way of the social media age. Everything is blown up out of all proportion. I'm not a fan of Corbyn's lack of leadership, but to suggest he is anti Semitic simply because he doesn't condemn every single utterance of something that is probably anti Israeli state rather than anti Semitic has now portrayed him as an anti Senite sympathiser.

The world's mad right now. They want a line from a leader of a party/country to condemn/back everything that happens every day of the week.

Good luck politicians.

Well as I say, trying to enter Israel into a topic about Britain and Iran, however linked to Israel Iran are, is suspicious to begin with.

What is it with the left, of which I’ve always been an honorary member, that is so attached to the Israeli state?

You can be critical of Israel, be my guest, if you do so every single time there’s a political thread then do not be surprised that I call you a Jew hater, because unfortunately, several of our comrades on the left are around here.

Antisemitism is well and truly alive and kicking on Bluemoon and is apologised for every single day in the Labour Party thread.

Ok, so you echo my question about why Israel is such an issue for them. It'd be far more pertinent for them to be interested in the Northern Ireland issue (which is not dissimilar on some fronts)

I've not commented on the Israel issue before my previous reply to you on this forum, let alone every single time there is a political thread.

You call me a Jew hater, yet I haven't said anything one way or another on the subject. Pretty extreme view to take, given I haven't expressed an opinion bar my feeling that most people accused of anti semitism probably aren't and are reposting half baked opinions or using incorrect syntax. I've never seen an Anti Jew march in recent times. The only ones I've seen are about the killing of and territory boundaries of Palestinians.

The media weaponise the "racism" of people calling that out because of poor syntax in general.

Of course there will be a minority of people that are anti Semitic, but I don't think it is rife.

I didn’t call you a Jew hater. I said start making every political post about Israel and I will do.

Oh you’ve never seen an anti Jew march? Well let’s just pack up and go home then, no need to try and route out antisemitism, marches aren’t yet happening all over the country yet so we need not worry.

Far right marches are in the greatest numbers since the 1930’s but don’t worry, AHT hasn’t seen one at the end of his drive.
