The problem is that if/when talkshite see the light of day and sack him, he will end up doing something else and that could be even worse.

He could reinvent himself as a Jonathan creek style tv super sleuth (Ronnie Irani Investigates A Crime) or he could end up doing one of those challenge programmes Anneka Rice used to do (Ronnie Irani Issues A Challenge).

So is it better to leave him where he is to spout his drivel? We could end up with more of him.
