Ireland and the Blue Tinted Specs

It's no secret that SI reads BM.Last time he read bad reports about himself,he says it spured him on to do better. This time it could persuade him to leave.
sorry mate, ireland never sprinted after anyone to make a tackle yeaterday just jogged about , even if your having a bad time you can make up for it with effort.

I'm worried about all the younger players at City who all look as though they lack confidence and appear to lack direction. Play players where they are used to playing. Where is SWP, SI,Nedum and Micah(the centre half)? Mancini is slowly destroying them. Why is Johnson playing all over the pitch? Barry is not the player he was at Villa. Did the GK coach do no work with Shay before the Stoke game?

And where did the transfer of Veira come from?

*Ireland is the new boo boy

*You'd think after this happened last time, people might learn

*All this bollocks about tinted specs and academy bias is exactly that

*Linked with Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool in the past 18 months

*Respected by opposition fans of every club - (when i've spoken to them at games, or just day to day)

*Having a shit time of things

*Has been given a stop start time under mancini, hasn't been allowed continuity and is playing in a team which stifles his strengths

*Needs to book up and become more flexible, teams arn't built around him he has to find his role, he's not going to be given everything perfectly on a plate and instead of allowing games to pass him by, needs to evaluat how he can impact himself upon every game he plays.

That actually started under Hughes, as soon as we went 2 up front he was lost, im not suggesting we sell him im suggesting he is out of form and people use there blue tinted specs to believe he still playing great

I could understand it when the likes of Gelson Fernandes and Richard Edghill etc, etc, got stick because they were genuinley limited and simply not good enough.Ireland has real talent and, if he can prove his fitness,I'd like to see Bojinov given another chance.I could be wrong though. It took me about 6 months to change my mind about Robinho.

Agreed, he's been in and out of the team all season... theres a lot of criticism for Ireland on here right now, the ones saying he's great probably have a point, because he's not been given the run we all know he needs to produce his best.

I reckon his confidence is shot to pieces.

I reckon Hughes and Mancini have messed him around in terms of whether he's playing and where he's playing all season.

His head's down.

It's irritating me to hear people say he's not putting effort in.

I think he is and he's frustrated as hell.

One thing's for sure in my opinion, he's up there with the best in our squad in terms of ability. If it isn't here, it will be elsewhere.

Tevez coming was a disaster for him in reality.

Agreed, i also think he's a bit of a "girl".

What i mean is, he needs to be madde to feel important and valued. He needs a manager who he believes has absolute trust in him. He needs games to prove to himself he's up to the task and he needs everything around him to feel "familiar" for him to settle into his role on the pitch.

He's high maintenance, and both sides probably need to compromise for Ireland to have a long and successful futur with us. Its no good saying he's not playing his prefered position, he's still got to be able to bring something to the table.

I wondered last season, when Ireland was having his stormer, if he's really a 'top class' player... i know the big teams want him and i believe he'd be fantastic at Arsenal and i can see him having a ball at utd... but he'd be one of the better team players for: He'd be a Nasri, not a Fabregas. A Carrick, not a prime Scholes etc.

I still haven't decided whther Ireland is our future or not, he needs consistency, a biggr backbone and his own self belief first. He can't keep allowing games to seemingly pass him by when everything isn't 'perfect'.

I suspect he does need looking after by the manager.

But if you're a good manager you get the best out of all of your players in their own individual way.

I think he's a top class player, I think every club in the premier league would be interested, and I think he has the potential to be world class.

My big fear is that he ends up as a hero at Chelsea or Man United.

i cant agree with the bit i have highlighted but the rest yes spot on.

tevez having come into the squad hasn't stopped Ireland playing every other part of his game that he was so good at last season has he?

ive not seen the threading the ball to our forwards that he is so good at or the tracking back winning the ball back runs he made powering forward wanting the ball in the box or the one twos he is so good at!
