I thought Hughes shirked bringing on Petrov

Yeah, should have brought on a player who hasn't played for half a year in a game of such high intensity. Chances are it would have taken him a while to get up to the pace of the game and we couldn't afford that risk. Then there is the chance that he might have got injured again because of being rushed back.

Bringing Petrov on would have been a huge gamble and you can guarantee that had it not paid off people would have been moaning.

disagree mate. he played 45 mins in reserve game and hughes has said he was fine he was just huffing and puffing through lack of fitness. but to bring him on with maybe 10 to 15 mins left to go would have done no harm considering the talent we already had on the pitch was mostley missing. you cant keep him wrapped up in cotton wool for ever hes got to play sometime.
