Ireland to Man Yoo!

Is this the same Ireland that most wanted to drive to Sunderland in August?
Ireland has without question been City's best player this season but in previous season we only saw that every so often. If Ireland can reproduce this form in the coming seasons he could eventually be in the Gerrard/Lapmard bracket of top quality goal scoring midfielders. It's up to the club to reward his form and quality but I wouldn't be throwing £100k a week at him just yet.

to be fair most proper blues would not have wanted ireland to go anywhere let alone sunderland(there was no chance of him signing for them at that time anyway)

he was immense in the reserves and during his breakthough to the first team, he was maybe a little young but such was our finances and squad he along with ned and micah had to be blooded a little early. now we are seeing real stephen ireland and what a player he is. if we dont tie him down and prove we are going somewhere he will bugger off, who can blame him. the manager uncertainty is obviously holding talks up but city had better get cracking or we may lose him, i've told mark hughes the same thing.
whoever we sign or dont sign stevie deserves a starting berth next august so get on with it city.

Bill, may i call you Bill, if I could be arsed to look back to August's posts on the subject I'd probably find 90% of the people on here would have gladly let Ireland go anywhere even fucking Bury!

its week end and my name is susan:).Bill is just fine, you have a better memory than me, i suppose the 10% just know a good player when they see one.

No way is Ireland worth 30 million!!!! Ha ha what a joke. Steve is worth 14 million at most which is still abit much considering Arsenal bought Arshavin for less. He's not an Essien, Gerrard or Fabregas. These are the 30 million players. C'mon lets be serious he's only had one good season in a team thats not under pressure to win every game.

One of my customers knows Stevie, and I did a bit of digging a couple of weeks ago and he told me this. Stevie loves City. He is very happy and would only ever play for one other club. United. He's a fan. However, he would stay at City for the rest of his career rather than move anywhere else. He is very settled with his partner in the North West, they've just moved from Warrington to be nearer the club. Stevie came over to City when he was 15 and spent the 1st year or so sleeping on another youth team players floor. He could have made it at football but his family wanted him to pursue hurling so he ran away from home when City showed interest. He has since f*cked his family off after they came crawling out of the woodwork once he became a 1st team regular. He bought both parents (they're divorced) a house and basically told them he wanted nothing to do with them ever again.

Oh and Joe Hart is wanting a move in the summer, he won't stay as a number 2, Michael Johnson doesn't want to play football again and would rather spend his life in the casino/at the bar......
