It he goes to the Rags, then so be it. It's a shame we can't accommodate him, but he's been a good player for us so good luck to him. We can't just assume that because he's been in our youth team, and then 1st team, that he holds the same hatred for the Rags that we do. That's unfair on the player.

it would be ahuge mistake on the lcubs and mancini's part to let Ireland go.
he hasnt had a good season but the talent is there for all to see
my worry about mancini is linked to this.....
RM clearly has a favoured way of playing.....2 strikers and wingers and with a box to box midfielder and a holding midfielder....now there is nothing really wrong with this (though none of the best teams play this way).
However, when this doesnt work (against temas who will overload the midfield and the defence, or against the really good teams), RM doesnt seem to have a plan B....he is extremely rigid in the use of this system and it seems that he knows no other way of playing (this in itself doesnt fill me with confidence about the guy). the 4-4-2 system is a very rigid one and when he plays with wingers playing on their opposite sides it becomes very narrow and can becomea very negative formation due to the fact that the defence will be very compact yet the winger will be often comingback inside to where all the defneders are....now this is where the fullbacks come in. you have to have ful backs like evra, ashely cole etc....but these sort of full backs arent that common.
a player like ireland can give your team a whole different dimension and against the sort of teams mentioned above he can really make a difference....he is the sort of player that can make a slide rule pass through the eye of a needle, score a goal with a late run into the box like scholes has done so many times for utd.

Cheers Jacob, I never knew that. Well, more reason for him to sign for them if he can't get a game for us. Again, I like the lad so if that's where he wants to go then so be it. a team that plays a stylish brand of football...instead of your very basic side to side up and down the wings 4-4-2 which we play without ever changing (unless wwe are desperate and start knocking long balls up to ade!!
