no because who have we actually brought through the ranks in recent years who are that good? richards, onouha, ireland, SWP. they couldnt cut it in champs league so we have to buy now that we can!

I think stages of progression stipulates that if a team wants to challenge for a title they need to buy big proven players to begin with in a couple of years this will die down and the academy will come back to the fore and although we might lose some good players along the way, better players surely aid to make younger players better and it can only help the academy products in the long term even if it impacts on it in the short term.
