Is it safe to wear City shirt in central London Sunday?

The Police are going to have a field day with West Ham and Cardiff playing at Upton Park around lunchtime on the Sunday. Perhaps both their respective scum elements can wipe eachother out!

I can honestly say I've never had a major problem in colours regardless of where I've been but there's been the odd encounter. What really pisses me off is when the snide comment or the fierce eyeballing comes from someone with grey hair. Someone nearer the grave than the cradle. You'd expect it from a teenage Scally but some of these men are ancient. They could be someone's Grandad yet they try and be Bully Boy in their day off.

i'm often on my own and always wear a city shirt and i've never even had anyone mouthing off at me maybe the odd drunk wanting a indepth convo bout footie but there again i'am a 18stone skinhead (a big softie tho)

Embarrassing.

If you're anxious, apprehensive or even frightened - stay at home and watch it on the telly.

Or, alternatively, you could stop attending altogether until you've grown some scrotal hair.

Have you seen them? They are right scary, they've got black clothes and everything. It's ok you giving it the big'un on a forum that's safe, try and be a big man on the street on sunday. Don't expect my help, as i shall be in hiding, like all the other sensible posters.

I'm travelling to Wembley via central London with a couple of tube stops, my main concern is wearing my city shirt and being beaten to a pulp by the legions of cockney rag twats that will no doubt be swarming the capital and angry if they lose.

I did the same route back from the final and a couple of Stoke fans were staring at me menacingly on the tube, and by that point (near Waterloo) there were no other City fans around. Just me in my city top.

Is it worth the risk??

Rag! (always wanted to do that)

really?

It's as safe as driving down the M6. Depends on who else is driving down it at the same time...

If you're walking down the street singing the blues, you're clearly asking for it. We went to Kilburn high street before the semi, and there were pubs full of rags, to the extent that the old bill told us to get a bus back down the road as to avoid trouble, but just don't be stupid.

Yes there's idots about, but if you see a bunch of rags that are clearly out for trouble, nipping into a cafe for 2 minutes takes a lot less time than a ride in an ambulance.

http://youtu.be/wQHfoz9Be7U - lets be honest, if you're asking 'if it's safe' you're unlikely to be one to take on a group of rags are you ?

If you are under 15 or travelling with women and children you are bound to be a target.

If this is the case I'd leave it at home. Nothing the scum like more than picking in defenceless families in their replica kits on the way to the match.

This is true.My ten yr old was targetted by a hard group of 8 men in black for wearing his city shirt with Tevez on the back..Fucking vile scummy bastards.Wish I was going but unfortunately I cant get away with leaving a 2yr old on her own!!!

Me, my Uncle, my 16 year old brother and my Uncles three kids all under 17 walked down Wembley way for the semi and got pelted with abuse and shit! My uncle nutted one of the c*nts out for calling my 15 year old cousin a slag and we nearly had our tickets taken off us by the dibble. They were spitting and throwing bottles, its true they are complete and utter scum! We held are own though but you know what the only thing i would change was not having the kids with us cause im not gonna lie it was a proper rush before a game of that size and just added spice to it, i have never bin so up for a game in my life! I will never forget it and yes of coarse it proves they are scum but if you hold your own and give them as good as they get the shit bags don't wanna know! Blue and proud, don't let the cockney plastic rags win!!!!

I wear mine all the time. To be fair there will be plenty of non rags about, particularly in central London... Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham fans hate the rags too so I wouldn't worry. Generally if you don't act like a twat you'll be fine.

Charity shield shouldn't be a big enough deal for there to be major aggro, if we meet in another final or semi it might be a bit prickly but really most people you talk to are no more bothered about the shield than they are winning the Dublin Super Cup or the Joan Gamper trophy
