Is it time for Colin to abdicate his throne as the King?

tevez is the greatest player in my lifetime to pull on a city shirt since kinky, but i think he'll never be spoke of in the same breath to Sir Bell because hes abit of a journey man isnt he.... and as well as he plays, i doubt hes city through and through

If he's still here in 2020 and we've won titles and trophies, he can be a king too.

But Colin Bell is abdicating nothing.

Only a rag or a silly boy would sugggest it.

Once Tevez has lifted a premiership, a couple of domestic cups and a european trophy aloft in a blue shirt then your comparison stands, until then he is just another pretender to the throne and god only knows we have had enough of those over the years

Do we finally have a new King?

One who we can drink a drink a drink to?
Is Carlos now the King the King the King?
Is he now the leader of Man City?
Is he the greatest centre forward that the world has ever seen?

I know he's been here for less than a season...........and his 1st touch is crap & he doesn't score enough goals (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha), but the guy is top top class.

far too early pal

but fingers crossed...

I agree with that general sentiment and it's true to say there have been many players who have initially promised much but ultimately have not stood the test of time. There have been loads who could have been legends in a City shirt but for one reason or another have left the club before having the chance to become legends. I'm sure we can all think of a few who might have been. Trevor Francis for example. Carlos has made a great start with the club and whatever happens, if he stays for long enough and keeps playing like he does, he'll be a legend whether we win things or not.

Having said all that, I don't think any player can take Bell's crown now, simply because I can't see any player making those 300 plus appearances anymore.

He's the leader of Man City
He is the greatest inside forward
That the worrrrrldddddd has ever seen
We'll................................

anyone know, out of interest, when the line
"he's the leader of our Team" changed to "leader of Man City"?

Just wondered.

Before 'He's the leader of our football team' was forgotten about, probably!

Anyway, the OP asked a question, and it's only fair to point out that Tevez, while having the potential to be a great for us blues, has a few years yet to do his business and convert us.

If Tevez is going to become the new King, he has old twats like me to convince, and it takes more than a season to do it.

He's on his way, but let's see him doing it for a decade.

If you're going to base your argument on what he's achieved in his career before city, thern you would have to say that Viera is the new king. Let's wait and see with Carlos, he's giving everybody a lot of hope at the moment and that's what we need.
