Is it time to sack...................................

How many would have Bobby Manc. back at City?.

I see Inter Milan are top of the league and Jovetic is having a great season.

Our defece would not be the shambles it is ATM...........

Any thoughts.

I love Mancini, he seems a bit of a bastard but he has real fire in his belly, which I admire. I'll always have affection for him for the role he played in helping to get us to where we are.

But I'm fully on board with what the club are trying to do and as such the type of manager that Mancini is just doesn't fit. The club are trying to build an identity, if you have a manager that resists that and wants control for himself then that is never likely to happen, what is likely to happen is the team will be built in one man's image and not in the club's image. When that man parts company with the club you are back to square one.

I haven't put that as eloquently as I would like but I think you can get what I'm saying?

Manchester City have confirmed today that they will be knocking down the 'newly expanded' ethiad stadium after sacking everyone of their extremely edgy and emotional supporters. The owners, when questioned about the decision said "We are fucking sick to death of the shit threads on bluemoon and are leaving the club to rot in the the third tier of english football, enjoy your trip to york away and halifax town you bunch of miserable fairys". An empty blue seat signed by nery castilo will be left in place to commemorate the cityzens massive 8 year history.

Now that is more like it. Someone who gets why I started the thread. :-)

15-20 years ago we weren't competing for top honours so loosing was expected or the norm, winning made it that all better especially against the top 6 because it wasn't expected and we were the under dogs, we played shit and lost we accepted it to some degree of frustration but as I said we expected it.

Now we have world class players with a good manager and the facilities to compete against the elite so when we lose against teams like West Ham, Stoke, Liverpool and Tottenham all in one season along with really bad performances in between I think it should and cause panic as something isn't right. It's easy to brush it under the table and say "15 years ago when were loosing to teams like Ipswich and Charlton" but 15 years ago we were light years behind the team we have now.
I can let a few bad performances slide that shit happens but after the first 6 games where we looked unbelievable since the it just went to shit and only the Sevilla game I can say we looked good value since.

I must be missing something......are you saying as fans we are not allowed to voice our opinion good or bad (constructive criticism should be valued) after shelling at least £42 on a match ticket?

Fortunately the club contacted me for the December fan survey and yes I complained about the cost of food and drink in the Stadium, oh and we need to sack the manager. They asked me so I told them!!

Not at all, I was just posting tongue in cheek a couple of weeks ago because there was so much angst going around and I wanted to lighten the mood/load for people. The thread had died a death (as it should have done) but suddenly was reignited for some reason. :-)

Fair do's, I didn't realise it was an old thread that has been bumped.

Was talking about this with Ducado last weekend. When we lost in the old days, it really didn't seem to matter as all we wanted to do was get to 40 points. So we didn't have the expectation we do now and if we didn't win one week, we'd hope to win the next. Nowadays every game, every point dropped, could be crucial to winning something so it matters more.

The last time I talked to you about managerial dismissals - you were on record as saying that 3 Managerial Brain Pharts over a six month period was just cause to think about the situation and 6 over a year was probably just cause to press the ejector seat button.

Well the 3 has happened and we are waiting for number 6.
Last Season: Burnley (A) 0-1, United (A) 2-4.
This season: Spurs (A) 1-4 (within 6 months of the first), Liverpool (H) 1-4, Stoke (A) 0-2.

I believe that Manuel Pellegrini is too inflexible to keep his job. Indeed the recent 1st half performances against Liverpool and Stoke were simply unacceptable with him sitting on his seat simply watching the car crashes. if we're getting Pep then he can stay to the end of the season but if we're not then we may have to think about it sooner rather than later.

Hell I forgot Hull at home 1-1 The 6 have already happened!

The defence was great under Bobby Manc because it was don't get beat at all costs. The footy was dead boring at times though. Playing for a draw?...no thanks. There were some wonderful moments but City have moved on. I suppose somewhere in between what we were and what we are now would be ideal. There's no perfect team though. Human beings make mistakes.

Seamless transition?

What gets forgotten in the "we spent loadsa money" debate is that football isn't like that 100% of the time. I agree that to win titles/cups big money needs spending. It's not a guarantee though. Madrid scored 10 today but had a bad result or 2 this season. Liverpool, Man Yoo are all over the place as are Chelsea.
The PL is becoming increasingly difficult as no team has to sell any player although player power works against the smaller teams. City are struggling with consistency but it seems like the days of some team doing an 'invincibles' again are pretty slim.

It's not just about the results it's the performances as well, our performances this season have been appalling win, lose or draw.

You going off Performances or results? If Performances I'd stick the 2-1 vs Swansea in there from the other week, if results you forgot loosing to West Ham 2-1
No - I mean Brain Pharts. Performances where the manager was clueless as to how to reverse (or get out of) the situation so he did nothing and it just got worse. Swansea was, I admit, close. West Ham were just unlucky in that if you played that game 40 times and the average result would be a 3 goal City win.

Hull was 1-1 BTW not 2-2 (I misremembered the result). Milner equalised in the 92 minute. Get out of Jail card played that day.

Did I say that? I guess it's one objective way of judging it but I've already said that there are others - our seeming lack of preparation and attention to detail being one.

You mentioned all those things too.
Preparation;
Attention to detail;
Being a team player too (the current board are very keen on this).

But you did pay particular attention to the endings for historical City managers: Ball, Clark, Hughes in terms of Brain farts. The one thing you noted was when a manager stares into space at City and repeats what has been done recently (with unsurprisingly the same result) and just watches the car crash then he's done - a situation that has repeated far too frequently over the years.

I believe Manuel has arrived at this state. I will fear the worst if the team selection goes badly and it will be confirmed if the team is playing badly after 5 minutes. If things happen as a fear they may do then an absolute pumping by Arsenal may be on the cards - especially if we play two midfielders (one of whom is YaYa).
