Is it too late to change my career?

Been in the motor trade since leaving school, went to college and completed my apprenticeship.

I've gone from car mechanic to HGV mechanic. Service adviser and the last 4 years
workshop supervisor.

I have well an truly had enough of my job, it's fair to say it makes me slightly depressed.

It's really all I know so thinking about changing career is scary.
The main problem is that I have kids so to start off again on a poor wage really isn't an option.

Anyone else in this situation?
 
Are you having a mid life crisis or something?
And to answer your question "no" its never too late i got my bricklaying quals at 28 granted i dont work as a brick layer but i work in a skilled trade that im not qualified in.
When i did my nvq level two in bricklaying i intended to go as far as level 3 and get a hnc in construction to work towards being a site foreman but i ended up getting laid off and things took an unexpected turn.

Is it the job or the company you work for that depresses you? If you feel like you can't get on with your colleagues or Management make life difficult for you, it might be as simple as getting a job somewhere else. It sounds to me like you could do pretty much anything within the motor servicing industry, see what's out there. Train apprentices, or work for Ferrari. The world is your lobster.

No crisis just sick of my job but scared to move on to something I know nothing about

Why not try working for your self
 
Well you need to find out what you want to do for the rest of your days.

I wish I had changed earlier but I am almost 30 and have started doing maths and Physics A levels from home. It's bloody hard but I hope to do an engineering degree and possibly get into design or something to do with renewable energies.

Been a joiner since school and well out of academia but work is on off too much and I don't want to be lugging doors around and working out in the rain by the time I'm 40.

Sit down and go through what you want in life. What jobs you think will benefit your skills and interests.
But it is far from too late.
