That’s very true but they’ve also lost playing there, too.Yeah because Zinchenko and and Delph have won fuck all playing there

With rest & rotation, if our players are on form & trusted, they'll get ample game time. This issue we have is the likes of Aké & Mendy make everyone sweat every time they take to the pitch. Hence Zin, Laporté & Cancelo being lobbed in there when Mendy is invariably injured, or just woefully out of form. It's still nowhere near a problem. Zinchenko is our undisputed left back, cancelo plays there as much as he does right back and ake and laporte will see game time there.
Bringing in somebody else limits playtime for 7 other players as all our defenders are impacted. Cancelo, laporte zinchenko and ake all directly get less game time, walker gets less because cancelo plays more at right back and Dias and stones get less because laporte and ake need more games at cb. we've seen first hand it's already hard for Pep to keep everybody happy. Signing a left back means selling at least 2/3 unhappy players and having to replace them too. It's not a problem at all.
Well you say that but laporte is already known to be unhappy with his play time from last season and that's with ake missing almost the entire season and mendy barely featuring. I fail to see how adding another player who will expect to play a lot is going to enable us to keep everybody happy. You don't rotate the defence as much as forwards so can't keep as many happy. With rest & rotation, if our players are on form & trusted, they'll get ample game time. Mendy's signing has been a disaster for all concerned so far. I'd just love a recognised specialist LB, not CM's, CB's & RB's filling in. We did all of this with our CB's for a season to our detriment as I predicted....
Sorry, I disagree. Laporté was coming back from yet another injury, when Stones miraculously & unexpectedly turned his City fortunes around.Well you say that but laporte is already known to be unhappy with his play time from last season and that's with ake missing almost the entire season and mendy barely featuring. As for a recognised traditional left back, you want something Pep doesn't have a use for. We had a perfectly adequate club trained one in angelino and sold him. Because Pep didn't need him. Zinchenko has been moulded into the perfect Pep left back, he's a specialist Pep left back.
As valid now as it was then.Yes it is a huge problem -Mendy is nothing short of shocking defensively - he is a liability every time he plays. Loose passes, cnt defend, tackle, head a ball, lacks focus/concentration. He is awful.
Zinchenko is a midfielder converted to fullback. - he does ok but he aint no long term solution
Yes we do need a left back and sell Mendy to whomever will have him
Ridiculous comment. That’s very true but they’ve also lost playing there, too.
We haven't been able to keep 3 top CB's happy, no idea how you think we keep 4 happy. Centre backs are never going to be rotated on a schedule, ever. chemistry, rhythm and form are vital. Let's say we have a knockout CL game and we're bringing in a cb from the cold because he didn't play the last 2 big games? not happening.Sorry, I disagree. Laporté was coming back from yet another injury, when Stones miraculously & unexpectedly turned his City fortunes around.
If we had 4 top CB's, they can easily rotate & keep fresh & stay happy. I think the problem arises when one player feels he's the one always being rotated regardless of performance, & is only selected for the B Grade matches.
If Laporté played against PSG in the CL, & was rested against a top 4 opponent 3 days later, & then selected in the reverse CL fixture a few days later, why would he complain if the same applied to our other CB's?
Missing out on all the big games, & being selected to play against Norwich & Burnley is what pisses off players who believe they're better than that...
