I flew out and back into MCR airport last week, Saturday to Saturday.
In the spirit of fairness, i will say that on my last few uses of MCR, i have had pretty trouble free experiences through security and what have you, and coming back into the country has been pretty quick too. In fact at the weekend i went from plane door to train station in about 13 mins, you cannot complain at that. I may have been very lucky with day and time of course, but still it was straightforward.
But what I will say, unfortunately, is that Manchester continues to be one of the consistently most dirty and shittiest little crap airports I visit, and i've been to many. Why? why is it every time i go there's a pile of vomit somewhere? or generally litter everywhere? and why the fuck do i always end up walking through weird little rat runs to get on or off a plane? some back door up some stairs and cutting through back corridors to get to passport control? The whole place just seems totally budget, and "for the year ending March 31, 2025, Manchester Airports Group (MAG) reported a record £1.3 billion in revenue, a 8.4% increase from the previous year, and an operating profit of £263 million"
