Is Manchester airport the worst in Europe?

What’s the plan for terminal 1, that big horrible Soviet Union looking car park is not a good look when you first arrive at terminal one departures. Whole thing needs raising to the ground and starting again.
I should imagine it Will be used to maximise car parking (the airport makes more money from parking charges than it does from Aircraft Landing Charges) but Terminal 2 will also have to be expanded because the Airlines have been squeezed into the Terminal 2.

The old C Pier will be used as a T2 satellite hub……passengers being bussed over from Terminal 2 and injected into to pier.

B Pier which is over 60 years old will be also be used for parking aircraft and again passengers being bussed over from Terminal 2 directly to their flights.

Heads up
Been twice recently to drop people off at t2 ,both times took over an hour from Stockport.
First time they where queuing before the slip road to the airport and the second time they had closed said slip road.
These were both around 7.00 am on a Sunday which is peak time.
Think its to do with nearly all the airlines operating now from t2 so there's a lot more drop off traffic now to that terminal .
Heard they were going to turn that slip road into a smart motorway, but even so you will still only have 2 lanes once it hits the roundabout so it will just mean less traffic on the M56 turn off, not quicker parking.
Anybody else heard anything .
You would have thought they would have done traffic planning before moving everyone

The Domestic arrivals process is an absolute DISGRACE. The morons built T2 without clocking that they’d have to factor in a domestic arrivals route and so it now takes about 25 minutes from the plane parking to getting dumped at what can only be described as a service corridor, via a convoluted bus journey around the whole of T2, stopping every time a plane needs to push back and then queueing for ages at traffic lights before waiting for the clipboard-wielding army of clowns to grant you release from the buses.

Only MAG could spend billions to make things so much worse. Come back T3 - all is forgiven!

An absolute joke of an airport designed and run by total incompetents.

Flew out of T2 on Boxing Day, absolute chaos….joined a long queue from the motorway and then sign posting to meet and greet parking non existent so I ended up going through the drop off zone once, followed by joining the queue off the motorway again!!!!

Remembered to pay the drop off fee online with8n 24hrs…but I’ll be making a complaint.

Returned on 2nd Jan to be greeted by rude staff at immigration, basically moaning at the kids for no reason….

Embarrassment to the city.

I was in & out 21/12 & 28/12 driven by taxi, it was busy on the slip road on my outward journey but I was pleasantly surprised inside this time (last visit November was awful in the lounge) sailed through security and could get a beer and food with very little wait.

On my return journey we may have fallen lucky but there was no queue after a fair walk at passport control and the cases were already coming out when I got to the belts.

No...

I flew into T2 on boxing day, 4pm ish,
no problems whatsoever. straight through security, phoned a taxi and it arrived swiftly.

Flew out again on Jan2nd, got to the airport 05:30 in a taxi, no trouble at all and found the whole bag-drop and everything very easy(jet) indeed.

Well-signposted, simple to get around and the staff i encountered were all pleasant.

Much preferred it to previous T1 experiences.

I did mention earlier in the thread that there aren't enough stands for the aircraft that are designated to T2, so passengers would be bussed to their planes and to say this is not ideal as who wants to be queuing outside in Manchester winter weather

As for the pick up and multi storey car parks, they have been really badly designed and it's causing all kinds of problems
I was on level 3 of the multi storey last week, and the queue for the exit were well upwards of L3 and, as posted above, I believe that every morning their is standing traffic on tge M56 to get to the airport
At least they've stopped people parking on the ground floor of the multi storey
That was causing absolute chaos and even bigger queues
