Cheers guys its starting up ok now but i wouldnt say that the de-frag has speeded up my re boot still slow as fook any options for sorting this out?

no idea how you do it but there's a thing where you can choose what programmes start up when you start the computer. so deselect the unnecessary programmes and it will be much quicker. it does work, i've seen it done. hopefully somebody knows how to do this, as i need to do it too.

start menu, then click on run, then type in msconfig and hit enter. you will then get the msconfig utility, click on the start up tab. there you will see a list of programmes that are loaded at start up. some of these are neccesary and need to run, but you will find a lot that you dont need and can start when you need them rather than every time you start the computer. uncheck the ones you dont need, such as real player , msmessenger quicktime and any other programme you dont need running from kick off. a word of advice tho, dont disable anything you are unsure of, you might need it. googling anything you see but are unsure of will help you decide which to stop loading at start up.

finally got round to doing this last night. worked a treat mate, ta.
