Is Nasri a liability?

Firstly let me say I am not a fan of Nasri. I sense he is not 100% committed to the cause. Occasionally he reveals the skills that he undoubtedly possesses but I find it annoying and irritating that these flashes of greatness are few and far between.
In games like yesterday he wanted to play the tippy tappy style of football he learnt at Arsenal. It came off once with Silva getting in on goal but generally his play for me is a weakness in the left side of our midfield.
David Silva is similar build and has been a titan in recent weeks running ,tackling and chasing. Cannot say the same about Nasri.
This is an area I would like to see us strengthen next Season.
Bottom line is if he was playing against us for the rags or Chelsea would he hurt us ,I don't think so.

He's a quality player. I agree that his commitment is sometimes lacking particularly when going in for challenges but he's been outstanding this season for the most part. Who'd you replace him with?

When we're controlling possession Nasri can be a real threat going forward, as seen in the build up to the second goal. Unfortunately when we're struggling to get a grip of the game - as in the first 30 mins yesterday - he tends to be little more than a passenger as he contributes little defensively. I'd say he's our squad's last remaining "luxury" player.

He does seem to go missing in the big games especially away from home think he has improved a lot this season though and he's played alot of games recently after coming back from a serious injury. We could do with someone with more fight and consistency but who is really out there that fits the bill?

Yesterday wasn't the game for him neither was Arsenal away.

He has definitely improved this season though but I could still see him being replaced in the summer.

Class player and one of my favourites

Doesn't mean that we don't need to learn when to play him and when to leave him out

Some players aren't built for ferocious games like yesterday. If he'd have come on in the second half of yesterday's game at 2-2 I think we'd have won the game

-- Mon Apr 14, 2014 7:18 pm --

Class player and one of my favourites
