Is Robinho still our best player?

He's never been our best player, just our best ball-player.

All that I've ever wanted from him is 100% effort every week. Perhaps we'll see that now.

If we don't, MH will have him on the bench, no doubt.

I agree with this... i think that Robinho has some marvellous skills and an abundance of talent... and he is one of the best ball players in the world... but it needs to be put into context also... as in a TEAM... i think his vision and passing are top notch... and he has some mean shots and curling shots... not all will go in... but he alone can change any game we play... and since we meet different oppositions each week we as a TEAM will need different skills on the pitch... so i think he will be a starter for every game this season but will be changed every now and then when that is needed and he is having an off day...

I cant rate the players in our team... they play in different positions and therefore has need of different skills... each of them are just as important... the main thing for me is that they play as a TEAM and not to enhance ones own popularity...

Great post mate, it does seem strange to compare how good an attacking player is to a say a defensive player as they have completely different qualitites

Yes. Although it depends how you define 'best'. He's easily our most talented and natural player.

No dought in my mind what so ever that he is by far our most talented player,he can do things with a ball most players only dream about doin,dose he fight for the team?,no not alll the time but do u want him running up and down tracking back,and flying into tackles? cause i dont i want robbie to do what he is best at wowing us with all his skills and scoring about 20-25 goals which im certain he will do,with a bit more luck he could well have had 2 on sat if it werent for 1 good and 1 great save of robinson.

I really dont see why people moan about him what we have is 1 of the worlds best strikers,hes never gona be a bellamy or a dickov hes never gona give you that work ethic,but what he dose do is make you smile most weeks with the obvious love he has for the game and he always bigs us up in the press,i just think we are very,very lucky to have somone of his calibre at our club and long may he continue

Robbie has more natural ability than any other player in our squad comfortably and is our best player, but, he is certainly not our most important player, thats gotta be Stevie Ireland, our only fit box to box midfielder.

I think the lad is a great player, and are most talented, but he easily fads in and out of games in my opinion. If Robbie had Ireland's commitment and engine, they would be no stopping the lad.

I think Given is our most important player. A team is only as good as their goalkeeper and Shay is up there with the best of them.

He is still easily the best player we have, he's up there with the select few elite players in the world. I dont think we appreciate how good he is at times.
