Im not the kind of person to scared 24-7 about shit likes, its never bothers me. Probably a bit of "it will never happen to me". But i work in the centre of Manchester and il admit that sometimes when i walk past a bin in town i get a horrible feeling that its going to blow up! I just think how easy it would be to just pop something in there, piece of piss.
In my opinion its only a matter of time before something happens. I dont think im being "scare mongered" there either, think its just being realistic. People are getting arrested all the time for plotting this shit, eventually one will slip through the net

This is what I have been saying on here for months but as usual i'm branded a 'scaremonger'
If this plot had not been foiled hundreds if not thousands would have been killed or maimed, it was even plotted to detonate the bombs over Easter holidays when the Trafford Centre and the Arndale would have been packed

I spent my 20's in uniform when we were constantly under terrorist threat. The key is not to pretend it might never happen but to be fully aware of the threat and be vigilant not afraid.
Every one of these cases exposes just how widespread this problem has become. Partly because for so long it was allowed to grow unchallenged.

We live in sad times because there has been a cultural divide growing unchecked and many have been in denial for so long that they are unable to see the problem for what it is. For every disillusioned young muslim who acts on their desire to join the fight there are many hundreds who are on the cusp.

I don't know what the solution is but I do know it doesn't involve pretending the problem doesn't really exist.

Yes it probably will. But is there any point in actually worrying about it all day? Coconuts fall on people and kill them every year, but how many beach bums stare up at the trees actually worrying about it? It's so unlikely but terrorists aim to put fear in us. If a war erupts I'll be happy to join in, but for now I'll concentrate on paying bills and having a beer or two and let the security services catch these c**ts.

I've been blown up and hospitalised by a terrorist car bomb, but I'm still with drone on this. Had a couple of similar 'bin' tingles since as I forced myself to confront my potential fears. Standing in a car park the week after, telling myself anyone of these could blow up at any point, I came to the conclusion that a single experience wasn't enough to outweigh a lifetime of enjoying cars.

And so it is with acts of terrorism and indeed most emotional examples that people use to try and unfairly label large groups of people with. The cases in point are a minority and should be treated as such. Exceptions, perhaps with a pattern of their own that needs addressing, but on the whole probably representative of less than 1 % of people/our lives.

The reality is that here, at least, the chances of it happening to you are incredibly tiny simply due to the relatively tiny number of such occurrences per year versus how many of us there are occupying places other than the point of 'impact' at the exact same time as an occurrence.

There are many more threats to our lives that have a far far higher chance of affecting us which we comfortably manage to dismiss and learn to live with; put this in the same bucket, try to enjoy doing whatever you do with your life, and make a little effort to see the effects that being kind to one another can have.
