If you were watching the Shay Given press conference today on sky sports news. When Hughes was asked how Joe Hart coped with having to play second fiddle, he cleverly diverted the answer away from Joe Hart. Or are we going to see Joe Hart fight for his place? Post your views.

I think Joe will get a fairer crack of the whip than Carlo Nash got in the Pre under Keegan. If Given isn't performing then Hart comes back in.

Who would have thought Caicedo and Sturridge would be above Jo is the pecking order 5 months ago?

I think Shay will have to have a serious dip in form to get dropped .If Joe Hart does go it will be as a No2 to another Prem team (is it worth it ?) or a No 1 in the Championship .In 5 years time if he progresses he will be a Good no 1 in the Prem

Hopefully if all goes to plan this will be the making of Joe Hart, he does need a wise head to learn from and Shay can give him that.
But this is City and nothing normally goes to plan :-(

Given will be number 1, Hart as number 2 will push him strongly. If we didn't have Given, Hart would be number 1 with no one to push him. Young Schmeichel will end up making a living playing in the lower leagues. If Joe feels he has to leave well that's his prerogative, and we if we are prepared to sell him of course as he is under contract.

Spot on.

Joe just needs to get his head down, learn from Given and take his chance if/when it comes along. He seems like an intelligent guy and if he plays his cards right he will be our no.1 in a few years with first-team experience (which he has already gained) as well as education from someone with a load of premier league experience. Don't forget, when Given joined Blackburn all those years ago he was no.2 to Flowers for a bit so will be able to relate to what Joe is going through now.

Given is far better then Hart sohe will be our goalie from now on. As for Harts future if he learns how to catch, distribute, position himself correctly and stop grinning all the time then he may stay. However, I think he will end up in the championship.
