Yes he is playing well but I expected more goals. Assists are all well and good but he needs more goals.

He said himself he likes to create goals more than scoring. We've got Carlos, Dzeko and Balotelli to get us goals.

The bare stats won't tell you how many times Silva's passing opens up the defence for another player to lay on a chance. Even if it ends in a goal the stats won't credit Silva.

Yaya and barry have not been given enough credit on here, yaya was treated particularly badly imo, but they have all been outstanding.

i know about putting spin on the ball but last night he seemed to make his through ball for slow down and wait for johnson. he is a magician and probably our most talented player since ali benarbia.

We knew we were buying quality from his performances for Valencia and Spain and he hasn't let us down. He is also far stronger physically than I ever imagined and he has taken to the different demands of the Premiership in his stride.

He does need more Goals though. I am not expecting 15 or 20 like Fat Frank or Stevie Overrated he isn't that type of player; but he should be good for 6 -10 a season - like Benayoun or Arshavin or even Ireland under Hughes.
