Is the Champions League worth it?

Players who make a difference won't come to us unless they think they've got a chance of playing in the later stages of the CL. That's why players like Willian & Hazard went to Chelsea. Without those players, it will be much more difficult to win the PL.

As fans I suspect most would rather see us win the PL but, as a club, the CL is more important for all sorts of reasons.

Aye, it's a shame though, as the 38 game premier league is so much better than a glorified cup competition,
that can be won with plenty of luck on your side (see Chelsea). Also a better indication of how good the side really is.

probably only taking 2,000 to the 3 group stage aways - not brilliant

Well Plzen, we could have taken atleast 5,000 but only got given 800 tickets.

No one ever takes a lot of fans to Russia with the costs involved.

Bayern have given us just over 3,000 tickets. We played there two seasons ago and in pre-season, so the majority of our hardcore following have been there before, combined with the fact we have a round of 16 away in either Paris Madrid or Barcelona everyone is saving there money for that and Christmas.

The woman at the ticket office when I went on Friday said they had about 1,000 so If it doesn't sell out it will only be a few seats.

No matter who we get in the RO16 there will be about 10/15,000 people who'll be interested in going.

I enjoy the Champions League games because the quality is typically much better, and the atmosphere is good as well, but I feel it takes so much away from our Premiership form. The dent to morale last season was significant, and that set the mould for last season. And this season we lost at Sunderland because of the injuries at home to CSKA. 65% possession with Silva at Sunderland would have guaranteed chances for Aguero and Negredo, and losing Fernandinho as well made that game so much more difficult. If the ref had not done his job, we'd have probably been alright, but there you go.

Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea can get groups which they can win, and for them its doable. For City, it's a mountain to climb, and then you get an impossible tie. OK this season, our Group was a joke. It was a Man Utd group, but it's next to impossible to finish top in, and this season, the way it's worked out the top teams are going to go through, and the 2nd teams are going to go out. The only chink of light is if Utd lose at Leverkusen, and Napoli beat Dortmund - somewhat unlikely.
