Since the heady days of the '68 Championship side and the Mercer/Allison dream ticket, I can't think of one manager that has really done much prior to Bobby, OK, Sven, Peter Reid and KK didn't do too badly, but nearly all the others have under achieved....Brian Horton did OK with limited funds to be fair.

So is the City job a manager's graveyard, and if so why?.

Not anymore. Best job in world football. Unlimited resources, superb stadium and fan base, one of the best squads in Europe chocked full of quality, playing in the most competitive league in the world, with the best owners you could dream of having. Dream job more like!

Sparky's still bitter about losing the job. Says alot about the managerial position, really.

No mention of the fans???? Because one bad game and they want you out

Not really, it's not like every manager underachieved it's just we've had a shit team up until the last few years.

It's not a poisoned chalice but we've never made it easy for ourselves by never giving the Manager enough time. Keegan set himself up by announcing his own departure in advance and everyone else since then has been fired.

Mancini delivered our first meaningful trophy in 35 years and will guarentee a Top 2 finish this season. Hardly the mark of a man who has done a bad job regardless of the circumstances.
