Is the 'Equality' of the Sexes Unbalancing Society...?

He sounds charming.

Women: I think they should do what the Hell they like. These people who are coming out in the media either for or against should wind their necks in and concentrate on living their own bloody lives. Do they really have nothing better to do?

As far as that TV program goes, it’s just that - a TV program - which will no doubt have been manipulated by the producers/directors to pull in as many viewers as possible.

That's still my son you talk about. And he's "charming" as of the know-it-all methods of his mother who cares more of what her house looks like and her standing in her neighbours eyes, than paying attention to him.

As for TV programs, of course they have to be 'manipulated'. That's called editing. And in editing you can do what you like. However, that particular program did not and could not edit the air of 'point scoring' against 'what's best' as that filtered through.

Women are NOT the same as men and may well reach a physical level of parity, but for a much shorter period. It's evident in sport and manual labour.

Fact.

If they stopped allowing (by virtue of the Welfare State) young girls to have kids by men that they have no intention of staying with then that would be a start.

This country needs to get a grip on kids being born to kids....who see it as a passport to benefits and housing, with no responsibility. As the only future available to them.

It needs to be stopped and the Welfare State needs to address it's stance on this immediately.

Kids without ANY father figure should be the exception, not the norm.

And? You're the one who painted the picture. He sounds like a dick, regardless of who you blame for it.

Haven't seen it, only the promos. It looks like a load of crap. I'm sure producers and editors are quite capable of manipulating the 'point scoring' and 'what's best' elements as well though. Who knows.

No disagreement here.

I might be wrong but you seem to be advocating enforced sterilisation which i can only see as a complete disregard of one personas human rights in order to create a society that fits another persons ideal.

Also, it seems you are branding all single teenage mothers with the same bracket of 'irresposnible whore' which, again, i take issue with.

I WAS a single teenaged Mum. And I work with those in a similar position. My post was formed from personal experience and the work that I have done for the last 28 years.

Do not make assumptions on what you think from one post.

My mate used to be a smack head - it doesn't mean that his opinions on smack heads should be taken as the truth though does it?

All i can do is make assumptions - that's how interpreting what people say works.

So,you are more qualified to know more on this subject than someone who has experienced it and also worked with the people that it directly concerns?

How is that?

And you do me and them a disservice with the "sterialisation" quote.

No. I'm just giving my opinion on my interpretation of your post. I know oads of single Mums and they don't all share the saem view point - one of them must be wrong...or right...or neither. So you being a single Mum in the past doesn't mean that when you give your opinion you are tight - is all i was saying.

It just seems that the only way your ideal would work is to sterlise them. There is no other way you are going to stop people getting pregnant or to prevent people splitting up or whatever. And i disagree with this.

Then you have a very narrow imagination if you think that my "ideal" would be to sterilise them. That is a kind of Nazi allegation in fact....did my posts sound like the post of a Nazi? No.

But perhaps they did if you do not see a bigger picture, and that is my point.

Tell me how we can stop the sheer ridiculousness that results in young people (who can rarely look after theirselves, never mind children) being given another option.

I believe that sentiments of live and let live are dangerous and lazy. People trapped in the trap/cycle of benefit reliance should be offered more than the "It's your RIGHT."

Why not say "if you have any more kids to another missing bloke" then we don't increase your benefits.

Worked in the States. And gave the people concerned some sense of responsibility and the wherewithal to evaluate their situations.

Pees me off a tad invisibleman when poeople spout from a higher viewpoint than their experiences have ever allowed.

If you have had experience of this situation then I apologise. But just having a druggy mate is not really a true test of living a situation.
