Is there anything to be cheerful about?

Am utterly depressed. Cheer me up please.
My wee laddie is city daft and would love to watch his team! He will only remember supporting a winning side who play great football, unlike his dad who has had to 30 plus years in the football wilderness! Come on City!

At this moment in time I can't think of anything to be cheerful about.

I can take losing....christ, we've definitely got used to it over the years, but the way we just crumbled in the past couple of months is a different matter.

To be in such commanding positions to win at least the Carling Cup and League before throwing it all away without a fight is totally depressing.

The record goals tally, 6-1 demolition of the rags, etc, etc, are all pretty much meaningless now and will fade into forgotten history. I can't even bring myself to revel in the 6-1 anymore...

Well....

Technically, if Utd get beat by Wigan (not likely) ... and we beat West Brom

Then we have an opportunity to play first on Saturday and should we beat Norwich away (again unlikely with our current away form)

We would be 2 points behind Utd before they next play.

Again to stress, I don't think this will happen, but it is technically possible. And to be 2 points behind them 3 days after starting 8 points behind them would be psychological

Although - this is where the 'cheerful' part becomes yet again bleak.

They play Villa at home. Perhaps the poorest side in the prem after wolves and who won't even get a touch of the ball. So would be back to 5 points again and potentially 8 by the next time we then play away at Wolves (they play swansea at home).

So the most realistically we could hope for is to be 5 points behind them by the derby.

Ultimately, we've thrown it away and will probably end up capitulating further.

But my point here, it technically is possible they could get beat at Wigan and certainly drop points at home to Swansea (they play the perfect way to get something at Old Trafford - have a real go and don't be afraid).

Two defeats would give us a real chance.

BUT ... we won't win every game :-)

Surely we can't get as bad a draw in the CL next season? Same for the other cups.

Maybe we can start slowly in the league and build up momentum around March to beat the Rags into submission by May, and the title's ours!!!

Maybe we'll even have four strikers who want to play for us, stay fit, stay on the pitch and actually do what they are paid to do. That would cheer me up no end.

we are still 2nd with 7 games to go and level on points with this time last year. This season will only make the players more hungry and give us that experience of staying the course to win the prem. Whether its Mancini or who ever we are on the verge of winning that title and there is nothing that Taggart or anyone else can do so stop us.

might be too little, too late now for title, but with the change of circumstances and financing of the club, we could always find out who is selling devine intervention, and buy it...........?! Always happy to be Blue :-)
